Enchanted Landscape in Modern Art - Ruth Clydesdale
Tonightâs illustrated lecture considers how Britainâs enchanted landscape has been interpreted in art of the twentieth century. Starting from the premise that the mystical side of modern art tends to be ignored, art historian Ruth Clydesdale takes on a tour taking in Samuel Palmer, Paul Nash and Cecil Collins, stopping by some of the cinematic imagery in Powell and Pressburger films. We may even take in a little music from Peter Warlock. Ruth Clydesdale is an experienced art lecturer with a longstanding interest in the hermetic tradition.
