Artist Clare Twomey in conversation with author and broadcaster John Kampfner
Exchange explores ideas around charity, responsibility and trust, examining the powerful role that individuals and good deeds can play within our communities. It is a special commission by the Foundling Museum for artist Clare Twomey.
Clare Twomey
British ceramic artist Clare Twomey has previously created site-specific work for the V&A, the Royal Academy, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, and nearby Great Ormond Street Hospital. Within these works Twomey has maintained her concerns with materials, craft practice and historic and social context. Twomey specialises in the medium of clay, producing large-scale installations, sculpture and site-specific artwork which challenge the boundaries of ceramic practice. She is also a research fellow at the University of Westminster.
John Kampfner
John Kampfner is an author, broadcaster and commentator specialising in UK politics, international affairs, media and human rights issues. Adviser to Google on freedom of expression and culture, he is also Chair of the board of Turner Contemporary. He was Chief Political Correspondent at the FT and political commentator for the BBC's Today programme and Editor of the New Statesman from 2005-2008. He was the British Society of Magazine Editors Current Affairs Editor of the Year in 2006. His previous books include, Freedom For Sale, and the best-selling Blairâs Wars.
