Sir John Sulston will give the 5th Jon Darius Memorial Lecture, held at the Dana Centre for the first time. He will explore public discussion and governance aspects of genetics, drawing on his work with the Human Genetics Commission. John Sulston won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2002 for his discoveries concerning genetic regulation of organ development and programmed cell death. He is the author (with Georgina Ferry) of The Common Thread (Bantam Press, 2002).
