Professor Sir Michael Stratton FRS FMedSci, Director of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, discusses his research and the discovery of the BRCA2 gene, now known to be associated with breast cancer susceptibility.

Sir Michael will be delivering the annual Jean Shanks Memorial Lecture on behalf of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
