'Themes and Variations' The architecture of Gillespie Kidd and Coia

Mark Baines, Isi Metzstein and Gavin Stamp on Scottish Archtiecture

The Twentieth Century is delighted to announce a talk by Mark Baines, lecturer at the Glasgow School of Art, on the work of one of the most important Scottish twentieth century practices, Gillespie Kidd and Coia. A current planning application for their best known project, the Grade A-listed St Peter's Seminary in Cardross (1962-8), aims to reduce the buildings to their concrete frames and opens questions about the value and preservation of post-war design.
