WinLab Festival 2013

An inspiring ensemble of renowned practitioners lead our professional workshops, evening classes and talks.

We are delighted to once again be hosting an inspiring ensemble of renowned practitioners to lead our professional workshops, evening classes and talks. The Festival opens with a Body-Mind Centering workshop led by highly respected practitioner Linda Hartley, author of several books including Wisdom of The Body Moving - an introduction to Body-Mind Centering. This is followed by our performance project led this year by the exceptionally unique dance artist Wendy Houstoun; application deadline to be a part of this project is 21 October. We close the workshop series with an opportunity to immerse yourselves in shared improvisational practices, jointly led by internationally acclaimed dance artists Kirstie Simson and Adam Benjamin.

Within Winlab this year we are also excited to be hosting Falling About, a research lab exploring physical, metaphorical and psychological acts of falling, for practitioners across a range of disciplines and post-graduate students. In response to this, some of our workshops therefore resonate with aspects of this theme.

If you can’t make any of the workshops, please do come along to our evening activities: Monday Night Improvisation led by Rainer Knupp, Seke Chimutengwende and Sally Dean, Tuesday Night Crossing Borders Talks with Calum Storrie and Amy Sharrocks, and our performance events by the Wendy Houstoun Performance Project participants and Kirstie Simson and Adam Benjamin. There is also a chance to join Emilyn Claid and writers for an open round table discussion as part of her Falling About event.
