I Just Like Beautiful Things

Conference exploring the Gilbert collection at the V&A


Over the course of three decades Sir Arthur and Rosalinde Gilbert formed a collection of decorative arts that is among the finest in the world.

Explore the taste, inspiration and ambitions of the Gilberts in the context of collecting in the Twentieth century. 'I just like beautiful things' (Sir Arthur Gilbert, 1913-2001). Speakers include Kathryn Jones, Charles Sebag-Montefiore, Timothy Schroder, Lorenz Seelig and Timothy Wilson.
