Workshop on Pierre Bourdieu

With Nirmal Puwar and Stephen Loyal


A chance to gain more ground on the thinking and career of the famour philosopher and academic activist Pierre Bourdieu.

Nirmal Puwar has published Space Invaders: race, gender and bodies out of place (2004), co-edited South Asian Women in the Diaspora (2003) as well as a Special Double Issue of the journal Fashion Theory on Orientalism (2003).

Steven Loyal is a Lecturer at University College Dublin, Ireland. His recent books include The Sociology of Anthony Giddens (London Pluto, 2003); and co-edited The Sociology of Nobert Elias (Cambridge University Press, 2004).
