This lecture will examine the origins and purpose of Existence, the universe and our place in it.
In this slide-illustrated lecture we will examine the origins and purpose of Existence, the universe and our place in it. Ancient and medieval philosophers and mystics recognised the unfolding of a Divine plan that interweaves the workings of the cosmos with human history and individual fate. Today, schools of the soul take astrology into account together with modern science and psychology and relate it to the universal Teaching found in every spiritual tradition.
This talk will be given by Z'ev ben Shimon Halevi, which is the Hebrew name of Warren Kenton. Born in 1933 into a Spanish Jewish Levite family in England, he was educated at St Martin's School of Art and the Royal Academy, where he was taught to see beyond the obvious. This awareness led him to make a lifetime study of astrology and Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical tradition. Out of this came visits to ancient and medieval spiritual centres in Europe, North Africa and Israel. Since 1970 he has taught groups all over the world and founded the Kabbalah Society. He has written fifteen books that are now in fifteen languages, including Greek, Japanese and Hebrew. He has connections with other spiritual traditions, is a Fellow of the Temenos Academy and lectures at international conferences. He lives and works in London.
