Miranda OâConnell talks about how the life and works of Mary Tighe illuminate the beginning of the Romantic movement.
The tomb of Mary Tighe, which lies in a stone mausoleum in an Irish country churchyard, has been little visited. Born in 1772, she wrote with power and sensitivity and her poetry influenced the young John Keats. Miranda OâConnell talks about how the life and work of this neglected poet illuminate the beginning of the Romantic movement.
