LSE public lecture
Come and hear Gail’s thoughts on leadership and what it takes to succeed in the current environment. Gail will share her insights, perspectives and lessons learnt drawing from personal experience over 12 years as a CEO of a major financial institution in Australia.
Gail started her career as a teacher in South Africa and made the switch to banking in 1980. With over 30 years of banking experience, she is currently chief executive officer of the Westpac Group. Westpac ranks in the top 15 banks worldwide by market capitalisation and was recently named the World’s most sustainable company at Davos 2014.
Gail is chairman of the Australian Bankers’ Association, a non-executive director of the Business Council of Australia and is CARE Australia’s ambassador for women’s empowerment. Gail also sits on the Global Board of Advisers at the US Council on Foreign Relations and is a member of the Group of Thirty.

This event is free and open to all however a ticket is required, only one ticket per person can be requested. LSE students and staff are able to collect one ticket per person from the NAB SU shop from 10am on Wednesday 21 May. These tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. Members of the public, LSE alumni, LSE students and LSE staff can request one ticket via the online ticket request form which will be live on this listing from around 6pm on Wednesday 21 May until at least 12noon on Thursday 22 May. If at 12noon we have received more requests than there are tickets available, the line will be closed, and tickets will be allocated on a random basis to those requests received. If we have received fewer requests than tickets available, the ticket line will stay open until all tickets have been allocated. |
