European Co-operation: Case Studies

EUCLID (UK Cultural Contact Point) is pleased to announce a series of seminars focusing on key European issues and challenges.

EUROPE: Challenges, Examples & Opportunities
A Series of 5 Seminars

The seminar will explore these issues through stimulating presentations from experts from across Europe and the UK, and will provide an opportunity for discussion and debate about the topics raised. Where appropriate, practical suggestions and proposals will be shared and explored.

Support from the EU for development projects is becoming increasingly focused on co-operation between partner organisations from at least three countries.

This no longer applies just to the trans-national funds – the next round of Structural Funds will include a strand that focuses specifically on projects where such co-operation will be essential.

This seminar will provide practical examples of co-operation projects across a range of EU funding programmes – Culture 2000, Media Plus, Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates, 5th & 6th Framework programmes, and the Interreg programme (the one Structural Fund that currently focuses on co-operation across regions and countries).
Speakers include:
Giles Agis, Brouhaha Festival (re Culture 2000)
Sylvia Mingay, Lewisham College (re Culture 2000)
Matthew Slotover, Frieze Art Fair (re Culture 2000)
Karen Fairfax-Cholmeley, Oxfordshire County Council (re Socrates)
Janice Whatley, Information Systems Institute, University of Salford (re Socrates)
Gordon McKenna, mda (re 5th Framework)
David Dawson, Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (re 5th & 6th Framework)
David Buckley, David Buckley Archaeologist Ltd (re Interreg)
Plus a representative from a successful project funded by each of the Media Plus and Leonardo da Vinci programmes
