The Life and Times of the Harrier

From first concept to development and the service life of the aircraft, up to participation in the Falklands.


It is now 45 years since the Harrier first entered service with the RAF and 4 years since it was withdrawn from service as part of the Government Defence Review. This lecture will cover the history of the Harrier from first concept to development and the service life of the aircraft, up to and including its participation in the Falklands War in 1982.
