Family History: Tracing Irish Ancestry

Join us for a full-day course devoted to helping you find your Irish roots, with Rosalind McCutcheon and Jill Williams.

Join us for a full-day course devoted to helping you find your Irish roots. Rosalind McCutcheon and Jill Williams start with an overview of the basics for researching Irish family history. They then use the rest of the day to present various aspects in short 30 minute sessions.

Topics include:
- an introduction into some lesser known sources
- an overview of the historical background and population movements
- the treasure trove waiting for you at the Registry of Deeds
- what's in the Irish Military Archives,
- the many Irish records you can find to be in England.

Rosalind and Jill organise the sessions so that there is ample time for your questions and their answers. They will also give you a comprehensive fact-sheet and a list of useful websites before you leave.
