Prof Hurwitz: 'Dr Parkinson and the Shaking Palsy'

A lecture on Dr James Parkinson's discovery and understanding of the disease that bears his name.

Dr James Parkinson's understanding of the disease that now bears his name was the result of a lifetime in practice as a London surgeron-apothecary. Analysing his "Essay on the Shaking Palsy" (1817)professor Brian Hurwitz gives a strikingly vivid and tender characterisation of a complex disorder.
