William Cross, author of several best selling biographies Cross looks back on his previous life as a Tax Man ( mainly in London ) and his transition on taking early retirement to writing
Before he became known as a writer of sex scandals and the author of several books on the Carnarvons of Highclere Castle and the Morgans of Tredegar House, William Cross was a Tax Inspector. He was involved in challenging skulduggery in some well-known British and foreign institutions. After 30 years he escaped with a well-earned pension and a certain knowledge of what constituted a âbusiness expenseâ. Today heâs going to share some lurid tales of his most successful tax investigations, offer some tax tips and tell you something about his experience of having the National Trust sell his books to visitors at Tredegar House.
This talk is arranged under the auspices of the Gloucestershire and Neigbouring Counties Luncheon Meetings of the Society of Authors.
