Highclere's Earls and Countesses

Society writer and biographer William Cross reveals the story of the Earls and Countesses of Carnarvon


Highclere’s Earls and Countesses : William Cross, FSA Scot, of Newport, author of several books on the Herberts of Highclere Castle and the biographer of Almina, 5th Countess of Carnarvon ( her husband was the Lord Carnarvon of Tutankhamun fame ) gives an illustrated talk and overview of the house and reveals some amusing tales on all the past Earls of Carnarvon and their respective Countesses stretching from 1793 until the present day. NB Highclere Castle is the backdrop to TV’s period romp Downton Abbey.
