The Queen’s Dwarf: who was Jeffrey Hudson?

Who’s who of Hampton Court Palace? 5 talks, 5 characters, 500 years of history.

Jeffrey Hudson came to the attention of Henrietta Maria, the wife of Charles I, when he was hidden inside a venison pie at a banquet in her honour. He became famous as the "Queen's dwarf" and was considered one of the "wonders of the age" because of his extreme but well-proportioned smallness. Join us for this talk as we explore a life of slavery, redemption, riches, and poverty.
