The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is hosting its annual Presidentâs Address lecture, as part of its prestigious lecture series, on Wednesday 11 November at 18:30 at the newly refurbished IET headquarters at Savoy Place, London.
The lecture will be given by newly appointed IET President, Naomi Climer. In her lecture she will discuss the really big questions and practical problems that we face in society and how engineers, who are our creative problem solvers at the heart of these issues, can provide a resolution. She will also showcase some fantastic examples of new technology and ideas across all of the IET sectors, observing how these changes in technology will alter business and economic models, and what effects they will have on the likely careers of future engineers and technologists. Throughout the lecture Naomi will explain how the IET supports engineers and will challenge the audience to consider the part they could play to engineer a better world.
Commenting on her lecture, Naomi Climer said: "Over my career, I've seen a number of emerging technology, business and human trends that will change the way we live and work in the future. I've also had access to the knowledge of many expert IET members and staff across the technology spectrum. If you're keen to understand what may be coming and the impact it could have â“ come to my inaugural address on 11 November!â
