Independent Dance continues its Crossing Borders 2015 series with a talk from Susan Rethorst.
1 December | 7 - 8.30pm
American choreographer Susan Rethorst will present excerpts of her work past and present and discuss how her work has transitioned from movement based work to what she calls 'situation work'. She will also talk about her book 'A Choreographic Mind' and how she arrived at that term; and the issues of the book in relation to caretisan thought. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Susan has been making dances since 1975. She divides her time between New York and Amsterdam, teaching choreography throughout Europe and Scandinavia and making work in both Europe and America.
Parallel to her talk, Susan will be leading a week-long workshop as part of Independent Danceâs WinLab 2015.
