Michael Fried: Barthes's 'Punctum': A Reading of Camera Lucida
Michael Fried is J.R. Herbert Boone Professor of Humanities and Director of the Humanities Center at Johns Hopkins University. Recent books include 'Art and Objecthood: Essays and Reviews' and 'Menzelâs Realism: Art and Embodiment in Nineteenth-Century Berlin'. He is currently writing a book on photography since the Bechers.
