Chart the varying fates of Victorian and Edwards icons of children's literature by exploring their influence on different forms of clothing.
Chart the varying fates of Victorian and Edwardian icons of childrenâs literature by exploring their influence on different forms of clothing, from fancy dress to the haute couture runway. Weâll see that while Lord Fauntleroy, the characters of Kate Greenway, and Peter Pan have all made contributions to the history of childrenâs costume, Lewis Carrollâs Alice is by far the most enduring and influential style icon of her time, and possibly of all time.
An evening talk with Professor Kiera Vaclavik, Professor of Childrenâs Literature and Childhood Culture.
