The Composer's Kitchen

Find out what was good to eat in Georgian London at this talk presenting the food cultures surrounding composer Handel.


Sara Pennell, historian of food and the household from the University of Greenwich, presents the food cultures of Handel’s London. In this illustrated talk, Dr Pennell will take you on a culinary tour of Handel’s kitchen, its supplies and its servants, to tell the stories behind the dishes which graced the composer’s often laden table; and find out what was good to eat in mid-eighteenth century London.
