This is the second of three special events giving rare access to the Adam drawings collection which will be introduced by the Soaneâs curator of drawings, who is one of the worldâs leading experts on Adam.
Taking an in-depth look at Syon House, one of Robert Adam's famous London country houses, this intimate and informal talk will offer you the chance to see original Adam drawings up close, while the Soane's curator discusses their significance. Then, take a tour of the exhibition Robert Adam's London to discover key objects and some surprising Adam projects from across the capital.
About Syon House
Syon is one of the last great houses of London, and has been in the family of the present owners for more than 400 years. In the 1760s the 1st Duke of Northumberland commissioned Adam to make extensive modernisation to the interiors. Adam undertook work in all four ranges of the house, including the lavishly gilded ante room, the colourful drawing room, and the breath-taking gallery.
