Famous, Gay and Buried in Brent

Illustrated lecture looking at famous LGBT people now resting in the historic cemeteries of Kensal Green and Willesden

This lavishly illustrated lecture looks at the challenges of tracing LGBT history through decades of changing cultural and social conventions, with stories including Dr James Barry, Dolly Wilde, Simeon Solomon, Ossie Clark, Danny La Rue and ‘Stella’, the most famous of the 'Men in Petticoats' whose sensational trial in 1871 led to a significant change in the law.
