Benjamin Franklin and the Opticians

Neil Handley, from the museum at the College of Optometrists, will open our eyes Franklin's famous spectacles

When not looking at the world through his spectacles, Franklin was corresponding
with their makers. He claimed they helped him to understand foreign languages
and attract the opposite sex. Neil Handley, from the museum at the College of
Optometrists, will open our eyes to this contradictory and controversial facet of
Franklin’s many scientific and business interests.
