Jim Eyre - Building Bridges: Spanning Disciplines

Jim Eyre will argue that successful design in the built environment should be the product of collaboration between architecture and engineering.


The first of two 'Building Bridges' lectures, organised in association with The Royal Institution.

Jim Eyre of Wilkinson Eyre, architect of such celebrated bridges as the Bridge of Inspiration linking the Royal Ballet School and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and the 'blinking' bridge, in Gateshead.

Eyre will argue that successful design should be the product of collaboration between the disciplines of engineering and architecture, and will cite a range of liberating technologies which are permitting new and exciting forms.
