In this presentation, presented in collaboration with the Cambridge Centre for Musical Performance Studies and the Institute of Musical Research, Professor Neil Heyde (Royal Academy of Music) explores some of the ways in which an instrument-led perspective can shed special light on musical practice, drawing case-study examples from recent music that invokes the past.
