In pluralized world, the crucial question in political philosophy is how to make legitimate decisions concerning common issues with others â“ with people that are different from us. In this paper I will first present a one potential way to answer these challenges â“ Seyla Benhabibâs formulation of the ideal of deliberative democracy. However, I will claim that this ideal faces several problems, for example, with respect to the question of inclusion under unjust conditions, where some social groups are more powerful and have more possibilities to affect the decision-making process.
