Dr Claudia Molitor and Dr Tullis Rennie bring together compositional, field recording and improvisational practice in this performance-lecture.
Dr Claudia Molitor (piano, City, University of London) and Dr Tullis Rennie (trombone, City, University of London) founded multi.modal recordings, part of their research at SPARC, to bring together compositional, field recording and improvisational practice.
Here they introduce this collaborative project in a free performance-lecture.
What is SPARC?
SPARC (Sound Practice and Research at City) is an independent research centre hosted by City, University of London. Its members work at the boundaries between improvisation, performance, sound art and composition, and consider the role that technological developments play in these contemporary music practices.
