The Centre of Entrepreneurship host Entrepreneurial Masterclasses which offer advanced insights into the career journey of successful entrepreneurs, and also knowledge of a cutting-edge area which they have become experts in, followed by a Q&A session. The talks are open to students, staff and general public.

This Masterclass will be hosted by Kirsty Thomson. Kirsty is the founder and CEO of The Circle Dundee. Kirsty has worked with charities, social enterprises and organisations. She is also Managing Director of ACK , a Third Sector consultancy that has been running for six years with five members of staff and hard-working volunteers. Kirsty has worked in and within the voluntary sector, academia, local authority and NHS. She is also a Saltire Fellow through Entrepreneurial Scotland’s Saltire Fellowship. With 20 years of work in the sector under her belt, she is using her energy and skills to help organisations thrive. Specifically, she is helping them meet their social goals by transforming their business functions: marketing, events, fundraising, strategy and planning. Kirsty is working hard to make sure that the work of the 3rd sector is appropriately recognised by those in Government, the local authority and in business and that social enterprises are properly understood.

With 20 years of experience in the charitable sector, Kirsty has secured funding in excess of 12 million for organisations across the UK. She runs two social enterprises and knows how difficult it can be to achieve your goals in this economic climate. Kirsty has a lot of experience of planning, managing and delivering evaluations. She is also experienced in delivering high quality press releases and public speaking.
