Israeli Terrorism and Palestinian Resistance

Professor Ted Honderich provides a philosophical defence for the use of violent self-defence by the Palestinians against Israeli State terrorism.

Professor Ted Honderich in his books: Terrorism for Humanity and After the Terror, explains that a moral justification exists for political violence by Palestinians, who have been subjected to savage violence by the Israeli settler-state infinitely greater than that which is used to defend themselves against.

Ted Honderich makes a distinction between official terrorism that is State inflicted violence and unofficial terrorism perpetrated by political entities without the resources of a State. The former is wrongly perceived as legitimate while the latter is condemned as illegitimate. He challenges these notions of acceptable violence when it emanates from the State but unacceptable when committed by
the Stateless.
