Join Shazia Mirza, internationally acclaimed Muslim comedienne, for an evening of provocative humor and cultural insight.
Shazia Mirza is not your ordinary stand-up comic. Sheâs a woman who breaks the mould, pushes boundaries, defies tradition, and makes a bold statement through her work. As a practicing Muslim, she doesn't drink, smoke, take drugs, or date, but she does do comedy. Like many people her age, she is a keen devotee of popular music, pop culture, and fashion. Her unique ability to embody both traditional and post-modern perspectives in a wildly hilarious delivery is the reason why Mirza is a rising star on the international comedy circuit.
In this Voices event, Shazia Mirza will offer a montage of original comedy and personal reflection inspired and informed by her distinctive experience as one of the few Muslim comediennes onstage today.
