A screening of celebrated Pop artist Ed Ruscha's film works from the 1970s introduced by Sir Peter Blake RA.
Considered one of Americaâs most influential Pop and Conceptual artists, Ed Ruscha explores the visual and textual potential of language with a recognisably West Coast sensibility. In the 1970s, Ruscha made two intriguing film works Premium (1971; 24 mins) and Miracle (1975; 28 mins). Premium features artist Larry Bell and model Leon Bing in an outrageous seduction plot. Miracle is a curious account of a strange day in the life of an automechanic. These films will be introduced by fellow artist Sir Peter Blake RA and contextualised by the RCAâs film tutor Al Rees.
