Music in history

Continuing the theme of East-Central European music, this Year's lectures focus on Poland.


How well served is music in general and cultural histories, especially in those publications devoted to particular periods or countries? Are historians more wary of music than of other art forms? If so, what strategies can interested parties develop to accord music a more significant role in debates on history and culture?
