The Pox and Wounds through the Ages

Two Medical History Lectures looking at The Pox – Sex and disease even before AIDS with Dr. Barry Peters (Consultant Physician, St Thomas’ Hospital, London) and Wounds through the Ages - “Bind up their wounds but look the other way” (W.S. Gilbert) with Professor Harold Ellis CBE (Emeritus Professor of Surgery, University of London)


These talks on the history of medicine are suitable for those with little or no knowledge of the subject, they look at a wide range of factors that have influenced changes in medicine and health.

Every session includes 2 lectures, given by different speakers, chosen for their lively and entertaining approach as well as their expertise and ability to relate historical issues to those of current importance.

There will be opportunity for questions and discussion. Delegates can enrol for the whole course or individual sessions.
