The Monica Jones Memorial Lecture - Francis Danby and the Bristol School of Artists

Free talk to celebrate 100 years of the City Art Gallery (now Bristol's Museum & Art Gallery)


in the 1820s, in particular, Bristol possessed a distinct and coherent school of local artists of national importance. The refurbishment and rehanging of the Bristol Gallery, some new acquisitions and much conservation work prompt this reassessment of Bristol's remarkable contribution to the history of art.
