On the morphology and propagation of chromosomes.
The propagation of genomes depends not only on their replication but also on their faithful segregation. This meeting will focus on how the morphology of chromosomes is regulated, how sister chromatids are held together, and how microtubules attach to kinetochores and create the forces that will eventually drag sister chromatids towards opposite poles of the cell. It will also consider how chromosomes are segregated in bacteria.
