The Dictionary Garret - anatomy of a room

Lecture by Natasha McEnroe, Curator, Dr Johnson's House

Dr JohnsonThe garret at No 17 Gough Square was the nerve centre of the house during Samuel Johnson's residence, and here the greatest work of reference of the 18th century took shape.

Johnson's Dictionary (1755) gives the room its historic resonance, but what became of the room once its famous occupant had left?
