Headline debate

The Ri and Five invite you to explore more headline-hitting science with our opinionated panel of leading scientists

Ever wondered about the bigger picture beyond what you read in the headlines? Science has a reputation for being controversial and for challenging existing perceptions, and if you love keeping abreast with current affairs in science then this event was made for you! How will our lives be affected by research breakthroughs? What is the public’s reaction to a new scientific discovery and are there conflicting opinions? The Ri and Five invite you to explore more headline-hitting science with our opinionated panel of leading scientists, journalists and politicians. Award-winning broadcast journalist and presenter Sheena McDonald will lead Elliot Morley MP (Minister of State for Climate Change and Environment) and Mary Riddell (The Observer), plus science experts, through the latest headlines, to debate and challenge science at the top of news agendas and in the forefront of our minds. To ensure that the issues explored are current, topics and remaining speakers will be announced on the Ri website www.rigb.org nearer the time.

To be notified of speaker and topic announcements and all the latest Ri events, you can join our weekly email distribution list – please send your contact details to events@ri.ac.uk.
