The Future of Men
Futurologists argue that male vanity – or “manity†– will be one of the most important consumer trends of the next decade. But is the alleged rise of the metrosexual – the cosmopolitan, feminised male - just a marketing and advertising phenomenon, or does it reflect an important shift in the nature of masculinity? Is it good for men to become more conscious of their bodies and their appearance, or does it leave them vulnerable to the same fears of inadequacy with which women have long wrestled?
