Collections Revealed: Clocks and Chronometers

This seminar deals with the fascinating recent developents and missions in space exploration

In recent years the world has been fascinated by voyages to Mars, the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan, and, in the summer of 2005, the audacious project to fire the Deep Impact probe at comet ‘Tempel 1’. Through such missions experts across the world are driving forward unmanned space exploration in astonishing ways. This seminar brings together four experts actively involved in cutting-edge missions to Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Venus, comet ‘Tempel 1’ and the Moon to discuss the very latest information on these thrilling projects – including what has been discovered so far, forthcoming missions and whether there is still a future for manned space exploration.
