Sir Anthony Kenny was ordained as a Catholic Priest in Rome in 1955 but later rejected religion. He has taught at Oxford and Cambridge and been a Visiting Professor at several American Universities. He was the President of the British Academy, a Pro-Vice Chancellor at Oxford University and is currently a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of numerous publications, including Essays on the Aristotelian Tradition, Aquinas on Being, The Unknown God and A New History of Western Philosophy
