Martin Henig, Britain's leading authority on Roman art, will examine the pediment of the Temple of Sulis Minerva. He believes taht it is the most important surviving Temple Pediment north of the Alps, but one which has often been misunderstood. Is the message it attempts to convey entirelly Celtic and native...or does it get to the very heart of what the Roman Empire was doing in Britain?
