As we become increasingly automated, extended and prosthetic, is it time to redefine the very concept of the body?


Human beings have always used technology to extend our bodies, but the speed of today’s technological advance seems to confront us with the body’s limitations. Is the human body fast becoming obsolete, biologically inadequate to cope with the volume and complexity of information it now has to absorb? As we become increasingly automated, extended and prosthetic, is it time to redefine the very concept of the body?
