Why do most educated adults believe in spirits, ghosts, telepathy despite all the scientific evidence to the contrary? Children are born with intuitive reasoning processes that help to explain much of the world, but also lead us to assume that it is inhabited by magical forces. These beliefs are difficult to eradicate, even in the rational adult. Professor Bruce Hood from Bristol University will be talking about childrenâs intuition and the origins of adults' magical beliefs.
