Naked Punch Review presents a free public debate dealing with the problematics of conceptualizing contemporary Islam and with the challenge of countering its dominant image as monolithic and fundamentalist. Influential Muslim intellectuals Tariq Ramadan and Ziauddin Sardar, along with Chair John Chalcraft of the LSE Government Department, meet to discuss the dangers of Orientalist readings of Islam and its 'nativist' reduction as a 'penal code', and to furmulate a series of prospects for Muslim in Europe and the rest of the world. .
