Guantanamo Story

Born in Birmingham in 1968, Moazzam Begg was, in the panic-stricken months after the 9/11 attacks, arrested in Pakistan and spent the next three years in American prison facilities in Kandahar, Bagram and Guantanamo Bay before released early in 2005 without explanation or apology. Together with the former Associate Foreign Editor of the Guardian Victoria Brittain, Begg has now written a book called Enemy Combatant to tell his story and provoke a discussion. Both Begg and Brittain come to the ICA to discuss that story and its broader implications.
