At the ICA, Hite will present a short lecture, after which she will be in conversation with Joan Smith, author of books Moralities and Misogynies.
Themes of female virginity and purity are increasingly popular in both West and East. Furthermore, argues the internationally respected cultural historian and gender expert Shere Hite, much of today's instability in global politics is due to a misunderstanding of the female body and an attempt to control female sexuality or women's reproduction. What does all this represent, and how can we move beyond it? At the ICA, Hite will present a short lecture, after which she will be in conversation with Joan Smith, author of books Moralities and Misogynies.
