Can pharmaceuticals improve an individualâs love life? Popping pills might help men get erect, but where are the pills for the girls? This event explores the science and sociology of how medication to boost sex life works and how it is affecting society.
From descriptions of orgasms to viagra and the âgay geneâ to defining gender - plus a night of Queer Speed Dating - the Science Museumâs Dana Centre in London is launching a new series of events exploring sex, sexuality and gender.
The fabulous Ingo Anderson from Londonâs first transgender club, Club Wotever, will host a discussion on gender, plus leading experts from a range of scientific disciplines will be on hand including award-winning lecturer, Dr Harry Witchel.
Launching on Tuesday 6 June, the series marks the 40th anniversary of the publication of Masters and Johnsonâs groundbreaking book, Human Sexual Response, which revolutionised how we understand and think about sex.
The series aims to bring this potentially taboo issue to life through discussion, technology, Speed Dating and rare items from the Science Museumâs world renowned collections.
Sex, Sexuality and Gender will take place at the Dana Centre - the Science Museumâs ambient and acclaimed bar and café in the heart of South Kensington dedicated to discussing contemporary science, health, medicine and technology in a cultural context.
